The leadership of Nigeria Football Federation led by Amaju Pinnick, has sealed an international friendly with the national team of Brazil on March 29, 2015.
Governor Godswil Akpabio of Akwa Ibom, announced this at the commissioning of the 30, 000 sitting capacity international Akwa Ibom Stadium, Uyo.
He said he has the mandate of the NFF leadership to also announce that the Brazil has assured that the Brazilian team will come with the full complement of their stars.
Welcoming the guests, including two foreign Presidents- John Mahama of Ghana and Alassane Ouattara of Cote D’Ivore and the host President Goodluck Jonathan, Akpabio, said football is a multi-billion dollars business that is bigger than the movie industry.
He enthused that the Akwa Ibom youths want a piece of the action, expressing optimism that youths of the State would soon be excelling in sports.
“I pray as Mr. President Commission this place, future champions will arise from here,” the Governor said.
