Bayelsa State Government at the weekend lauded the leadership and members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for their peaceful conduct during the ward congress of the party in the State, saying it would further strengthen the bond of unity and oneness among members.
Governor Dickson, who exercised his constitutional right in Tarakiri ward 2 at Angalabiri in Sagbama local government area of the state, said the members conduct is a further confirmation of unity and stability in the ruling party in the State.
The Party, according to the governor is noted for peace and stability, stressing that, the peaceful conduct of the congress is a further confirmation of this fact.
Describing the emergence of a female delegate among the three winners as a demonstration of his administration’s advocacy for increased women participation in politics, the Governor assured that, his administration would continue to give the needed support to the women of the state.
He described women as critical players in the sustenance of the nation’s democratic rule and needd to be carried along.
Also, the governor commended the people of Angalabiri community for their show of maturity and love for the party.
In a related development, the state Deputy Governor, Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah (rtd), has expressed appreciation to members of the party in Nembe Ward 3 for their impressive turn out during the Ward Congress for the election of three delegates of the Party.
Speaking after the Ward Congress elections at Nembe, Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah (rtd) thanked PDP faithful for their peaceful conduct, stressing that they should continue to support the Transformation Agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan and the Restoration Administration of Governor Seriake Dickson.
He also assured the people of Nembe Ward 3 and indeed, the people of Nembe, especially the women and youths that, there are plans to empower them, saying that they should not relent in their resolve to vote PDP in the forthcoming general elections.
The deputy governor further implored the youths of Nembe Local Government Area, not to thwart the developmental efforts of the State government, adding that more dividends of democracy are coming to the area.
