As politics of Nigeria Football Federation Elective Congress is drawing closer, the Football Association Chairmen from North have collectively resolved to take a shot at the presidency of football house later in the year having given the South the opportunity to occupy the seat for eight years.
The Northern Chairmen who met in one of the city in North Central Zone recently also engaged some Southern FA chairmen in a virtual meeting and unanimously agreed to reject any offer from the incumbent NFF Boss to extend his tenure for another four years.
According to our source who is an Executive member of the current board who pleaded not to be mentioned, the decision to change position between South and North in the forthcoming NFF election was reached last year.
“Look my friend anybody thinking of extending his or her tenure should have a rethink. I strongly believe that Pinnick has no such intention because we from north have supported him even against our brother,(Aminu Maigari), asking for third term would amount to pushing his luck too far.
“We helped him to get to FIFA Council, he should be grateful. I laugh when I read that Pinnick third term agenda is settled and we from north have agreed to back him. My brother I called it fake news. It is time for North and nobody can stop us. Already we have picked Vice President from South “, the source revealed.
Prompt News reports that for the past eight years, Amaju Pinnick and Seyi Akinwunmi from South have held sway as NFF President and Vice President respectively.
