Prominent Nigerians, including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and Senate President Ahmed Lawan on Tuesday stormed Ibadan, Oyo State, for the burial of Angela, wife of Sen. Teslim Folarin (APC-Oyo Central).
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Angela, a 47-year-old legal practitioner, died on Jan. 28 in UK.
Also at the service which took place at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ilupeju-Bodija, were Folarin’s political associates, friends and family.
In his sermon, Rev.(Fr) Felix Ethapeme, described the late Angela as “a loving, God-fearing woman who committed her life to service of God and humanity”.
According to him, she has contributed immensely to the advancement of the church and the society during her lifetime.
Ethapeme called on Nigerians, especially political office holders to live exemplary life that would glorify God and enhance a better society.
The cleric enjoined parents to give their children proper upbringing, saying that they should encourage them to serve God diligently.
He also tasked parents to bring up their children to love God and serve him diligently.
“If we teach our children, we will have our two eyes closed and live in a better society,” he said.
NAN reports that remains of the late Angela Folarin were laid to rest at a private cementry, amidst tears.
Other dignitaries at the service were Alhaji Rauf Olaniyan, the State Deputy Governor; Sen. Kola Balogun (PDP-Oyo South); Sen. Abdulfatai Buhari (APC-Oyo North); Sen. Musiliu Obanikoro and Chief Bayo Adelabu.
Also, in attendance included the Minister of Sports, Mr Sunday Dare; Chief Joseph Tegbe; Dr Olusola Ayandele; Alhaji Sharafadeen Alli; Prof. Adeolu Akande; Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle and Sen. Olufemi Lanlehin.
Others were Segun Ogunwuyi, the Chief of Staff to Gov. Seyi Makinde; Mrs Olubamiwo Adeosun, the Secretary to Oyo State Government and Alhaja Ololade Agboola, the State Head of Service. (NAN)
