Chairman FCT Football Association Abba Mohammed Mourktar has appealed to the super eagles not to underrate the Sudanese national team in their second group game on Saturday.
Mourktar made the appeal in a chat with Prompt News, saying that the boys from Sudan are home players who have been together and likely to spring surprise if the eagles are not careful.
He applauded Eguavoen and his crew for the tactical discipline displayed against Egypt in the group opener.
“I want the eagles to approach the game against Sudan the same way they handled Egypt.
“Every Country in that group should be taken serious and each match should be handled as if they are playing final of the championship.
“Honestly, I am impressed with Eguavoen, just within few weeks , he was able to fashion out playing pattern for the eagles.
“I am an advocate of grassroots and home made coaches. I know given the right environment and needed support Nigeria coaches can go places,” said Mourktar.
The FCT FA Boss charged Eguavoen to prove that the first game against Egypt was not a fluke by beating Sudan to qualify for the next round with a game in hand.
