He stressed that, the constituents and the Urhobo nation in general deserved a better package in the scheme of things in the federation which according to him, could only be attracted through meaningful legislation at that level of government.
The multilingual journalist had this to say, “there is a blazing interest to serve my people and you will agree with me that, it is not possible to use one’s personal asset alone to meet such huge demand; hence, I felt compelled to launch into the appropriate quarters which is corridors of power through election in order to fulfill this vision for the constituents.
“It is therefore my plea to the revered people of my constituency to give me the mandate to represent them at the Federal House of Representatives.”
The aspirant who has been in the office of the President for well over 10 years and who has turned around the fortune of journalists in the Aso Rock Villa, said he knew the right channel to follow in the bid to attracting meaningful development to the area under his representation.
“Beside official legislation, i have made my personal and contacts with those who matter in the seat of power of the federal personal republic of Nigeria through my job as a foremost media practitioner in the villa. Permit me to say too that my connection in the villa goes beyond the villa but as far to the various ministries and parastatals at the federal levels.
By implication, I have the capacity to muster the extra force which may be difficult for some other persons to do. And with these connections, I can assure you of attracting more dividends of democracy to this constituency.
Responding, the Udu and Ughelli North PDP chairmen who spoke at their respective secretariats expressed confidence and satisfaction over the aspiration of the Daniel Idonor.
They noted that, the Urhobo nation at large should be thankful to God for having a worthy son as journalist who has been able to attain that reach in the profession and who has indicated his intention to represent his people at that level of law making in government.
They also pledge to be supportive of his dream stressing that what the constituents need is a person who is intelligent and vibrant with the knowledge of what to do when they get to the house and not people who do not have the interest of constituents at heart.
