The Association of Kwara South Artisans, an association that unites artisans across Kwara South has expressed its commitment to the endorsement of Gbenga Makanjuola for Kwara South Senate seat, saying the former House of Representative member deserves the senate ticket.
This was made known by the chairman of the group, Mr. Afolayan Ajiboye while speaking at the monthly joint meeting of Kwara South Artisans; he urged the people to remain persistent in the advocacy for Makanjuola, stressing that the political progress of Kwara South is dependent on the quality of candidates that occupy public positions in the senatorial district.
During the meeting in Illofa where other APC chieftains across Kwara South gathered, Ajiboye reiterated the readiness of artisans across Kwara South to mobilize Kwara South indigenes and residents for Makanjuola. He recalled the several empowerment and development activities of Hon. Makanjuola while serving as Honorable member at the Federal House Representative which explains why he deserves the senate ticket of Kwara South.
“We should not halt the course of progress in Kwara South by supporting a candidate that is not familiar with the people and has no performance record in our zone; till date, the eight years of Makanjuola at the Federal House of Representative is most productive ever; Makanjuola improved our children’s quality of education by launching free coaching for primary and secondary schools in the constituency, scholarship was awarded to students on merit without bias; he unified our youths by introducing a soccer competition which was launched by the former deputy governor of Kwara state; youth empowerment among others are his achievements we can all recall” he stated.
Ajiboye lauded the vision, courage, determination, character and devotion of Hon. Makanjuola while he promised that artisans across Kwara South will continue the advocacy for Makanjuola until he gets the endorsement of Senator Bukola Saraki, Kwara APC and wins the ticket for Kwara South Senate seat.
He urged members of the Artisan Group in Kwara South to work hard, mobilize and advocate for Makanjuola, adding: “There are many groups advocating and mobilizing for Makanjuola, this is Kwara South project, not an individual project. Lets all work together in unity and understanding. The focus now is not the reward you and I want to gain. Makanjuola will not abandon principled, patriotic and committed people of Kwara South. I urge you to continue the good work of mobilizing for Kwara South success.”
