Ahead of their first home match of the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League season against Kwara United this Sunday, Plateau United players were sensitized on Cardiopulmonary resuscitation CPR.
Head of the Club Medical Department, Dr. William Golit said the CPR is aimed at rescueing the heart and lungs of an unconscious player or official.
Dr. Golit said CPR is very important for players and officials because the medical team may be far from the scene of the incident.
” It is vital for players and official to be abreast with this technique in order to safe life whenever the need arises. Because such incidents can occur at any given time,” he stated.
The Medical doctor took time off to demonstrate the technique to players and officials who are mainly involved during matches.
In another development, prayers were offered for the team as they begin their first match of the season at home this Sunday.
The prayers which was said in the Christian and Muslim Faith was conducted by Reverend Father Tony Enokhela and Oustas Mohammed Mohamed.
The two cleric who committed the team to God, prayed for an injury-free and successful season and appealed to them to always give thanks to God whether in victory or in defeat.
The team also dedicated the new season at a Mountain of Fire and Miracles Church as well as at an undisclosed mosque.
Plateau United who lost their first Match one-nil to newly promoted Niger Tornadoes of Minna in Ilorin last Sunday, will welcome, Kwara United of Ilorin at the new Jos Stadium this Sunday.
