Zaidu Sanusi will be yet another player who will be caught up in the club vs country row after FC Porto insist the defender will not be released to the Super Eagles before their clash against Benfica.

Porto and Benfica will clash for a second time in a week on December 30, which will be two days after the Super Eagles training camp in Uyo for the AFCON would have opened.

A Bola has now reported Porto will only release 24-year-old Zaidu after the Benfica clash as the leftback’s main rival Wendell will not be available due to injury.

Scottish champions Rangers have already announced that Joe Aribo, Leon Balogun and Calvin Bassey can only join up with the Eagles after January 2, when they would have played Celtic in an Old Firm Derby.

Injury-hit Napoli striker Victor Osimhen could be another late comer to Uyo as his Italian club do not intend to release him before a Serie A clash against Juventus on January 6.
