80 South African companies will showcase their products and services at the Intra-African Trade Fair 2021 (IATF2021), so as to penetrate the continental market, the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (DTIC) said on Wednesday.
DTIC said the fair would allow international buyers, sellers and investors to share market information and investment opportunities in support of intra-African trade.
“The trade fair will offer us an opportunity to profile and market proudly South African goods and services, build lasting networks and establish collaborations that will increase South Africa’s goods and services exports into the continent and position South Africa as the partner of choice,’’
The Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition, Nomalungelo Gina said.
According to her, the fair would highlight South African manufacturing capability in agriculture, agro-processing, automotive, construction and infrastructure development.
It will also show the country’s capabilities in consumer goods, energy and power, engineering, footwear, leather and textiles, heavy industries and light manufacturing.
The IATF 2021 will take place in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal from Nov. 15 to Nov.21.
The premier of KwaZulu-Natal Sihle Zikalala said that they were ready to welcome delegates and representatives of business, exhibitors and traders to the exhibition.
The IATF 2021 will be hosted by the South African government and African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank).
A total of 10,000 buyers and visitors are expected to grace the fair. (Xinhua/NAN)
