Gov. Mai Mala Buni of Yobe has applauded troops of the Nigerian Army under the North East Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), for their resilience and gallantry in the war against insurgency.
Buni made the commendation when the Theater Commander, Maj.-Gen. Christopher Musa, paid him a courtesy visit, on Tuesday in Damaturu.
The governor also appreciated the commitment of the troops, saying that government would continue to provide necessary support to security agencies in the state.
Represented by his Deputy, Alhaji Idi Gubana, the governor charged residents of the state to provide credible information to security agencies.
In his remarks, Musa said he was in the state to boost the morale of front line soldiers and strategise towards effective execution of the war.
He sought for more robust and sustained collaboration between the military and the state government to clear remnant of the terrorists.
The Commander announced that the army authoritues had approved the establishment of two military courts in Damaturu and Maiduguri, to ensure strict adherence to the operational laws. (NAN)
