The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) on Wednesday announced Abuja and Oct. 2 as venue and date for its Extraordinary Congress.
The federation, in a statement by its Media Office, said this followed the invitation letter sent to stakeholders on Tuesday.
The letter was sent out to the Basketball Association Chairmen in the 36 states and the FCT by the NBBF Secretary, Olabisi Afolabi-Oluwayemi.
It disclosed that the Congress would hold at Hotel De Bentley in Utako.
Delegates are expected to arrive on Oct. 1 for the Congress which will ratify the date, venue and other details for the 2021 NBBF Board elections.
Also, the federation’s Caretaker Committee Chairman, Musa Kida, has lauded the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, for “his role in ensuring a smooth electoral process and a peaceful post-electoral process”.
“The virtual meeting recently presided over by the Minister clearly shows his commitment to see a NBBF where all stakeholders will continue to work for the common interest of the game.
“Nigerian basketball has a very huge potential that if harnessed will create a system where millions can benefit from.”(NAN)
