Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, wife of Gov. Oluwarotimi of Ondo State, has stressed the importance of teaching and raising women in an industrious capacity to alleviate the burden on the family man.
Akeredolu, who emphasised this on Thursday in Oka-Akoko during the inauguration of Benjamin Bakery, an ultra modern bakery owned by a woman, explained that industrious women would add to the finances of the family.
According to her, women need to support the earnings of their spouses so that the financial burden does not rest solely on the men.
While stressing the importance of food to the society, the wife of the governor commended the business acumen of the bakery owner.
“Food is very important to our society. Look at what she has done here. This is another investment that truly connects with the people,” she said.
Earlier, Mrs Adejumoke Adeleye, the owner of the bakery, said the establishment of the business would provide gainful employments to youths, especially women.
Adeleye, who is also the wife of the traditional ruler of Oka-Akoko, enjoined stakeholders to contribute financially and morally to grow the outfit to optimum production capacity.
Also, Mr Gbenga Omole, member representing Akoko South-West Constituency 1 in the state House of Assembly, said the bakery would create job opportunities for the teeming youths of Akoko.
He also commended the owner of the bakery for her business acumen, and said it would improve the economy of the community. (NAN)
