Like the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Federal House of Representatives on Friday hurriedly passed the contentious Section of the Electoral Act Amendment Bill which did not approve the Electronic Transmission of Results.
This is even as the House did not listen to the views of Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu and Executive Vice Chairman/ CEO of Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) Professor Umar Dambata who were invited on Thursday by the House to throw more light on the vexed issue.
The House Speaker, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila had on Thursday told the House that INEC Chairman and Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) boss have been invited to appear before the House before Members will vote on the Electronic Transmission of Results contained in the Electoral Act Amendment Bill has been passed by the National Assembly (NASS) last Wednesday.
But none of the two appeared before the House on Friday.
