Angry protesters on Tuesday, defied the directive of Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike as they converged in large number on Pleasure Park, Port Harcourt to take part in #EndSARS protest aimed at achieving total overhaul and reformation of the Nigerian Police.
Prompt News reports that Governor Wike had announced prohibition of #EndSARS protest in the state, saying the IGP had already disbanded FSARS.
Amnesty International tweeting @AmnestyNigeria writes:
“Governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike @GovWike must be held accountable for any violation of protesters.”
Also, frontline human rights activist, Aisha Yesufu writes @Aisha_yesuf:
“Port Harcourt please don’t let them push you into violence! They want an excuse to give to the international community for their use of force. Let’s be guided my battery is low. Make una Rugged am peacefully!! @SARSMUSTEND @PHprotest @PortHarcourtProtests”
In Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom state, the protest by #UyoProtest was reported peaceful by protesters who were giving update on Twitter.

In Enugu, the protesters answered the clarion call for the first time since #EndSARS protests started last week, marching on major streets, joined by mmusic artistes Flavour and Phyno.

“We’ve been killed, we ‘ve been accused, we’re now sending a big message across the world! Our voice must be heard! We don’t need an audio ending! #SARSMUSTEND”
In Abuja, the @EndSARS protest turned violence as soldiers deployed to maintain law and order are reported to be brutalizing protesters.
For the second time in the last 48 hours, Arise News TV cameraman was assaulted by soldiers for recording brutalization of protesters who were marching to the National Assembly.
