The Nasarawa State House of Assembly Ad-hoc committee investigating the activities of the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to governor Abdullahi Sule on Development Control, Arch Stanley Buba has commenced public hearing.
Chairman of the committee, Hon. David Maiyaki, while addressing the management of the State Urban Development Board (NUDB) in Lafia, on Tuesday, said that the purpose of the public hearing was to get the necessary information that will help the committee in carrying out its investigation.
Maiyaki, who declared the hearing open told the Managing Director and other management staff of the board that the committee is not out to witch hunt anyone but to sanitize the system for the development of the state.
He stated that it became eminent to set up the committee after the SSA could not give them satisfactory response to the questions thrown at him when he was invited by the House.
“When the SSA to His Excellency, Gov Abdullahi Sule on Development Control, Arc. Stanley Buba, appeared at the plenary, Honourable members were not satisfied with the explanation/ answers given by him, hence the need for the set up of this committee.
Maiyaki , while soliciting for the cooperation of the management staff of the board to provide necessary information they will require in their investigation, assured that they will do justice by giving fair hearing to every body.
The chairman said that the investigation will continue in order to ascertain the true position on the matter.
Other members of the committee, who spoke during the meeting advised the MD and the management staff to work in unity for the progress of the board and the entire state.
In his remark, the Managing Director of the Board, Mohammed Adamu Sule appreciated the committee for the invitation and assured of his readiness to avail them with necessary information that will help the committee in doing its job.
