The crisis of leadership rocking the Edo State House of Assembly escalated Wednesday as the two factions continued supremacy battle.
However, the battle to control the Assembly between the All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmakers and their Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) colleagues degenerated into a free for all fight.
In the ensuing melee, glass doors and windows were broken.
Trouble started when the suspended Deputy Speaker, Festus Ebea, led eight other PDP lawmakers to the Assembly Chamber to commence proceedings for the day.
But not long, the 15 APC lawmakers, led by the Speaker, Uyi Igbe, also came into the Chamber, leading to verbal altercations and exchange of blows.
But for quick intervention of the State Commissioner of Police, Foluso Adebanjo, it would have been more serious.
The Police boss thereafter deployed his men while Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) and police vans were also stationed around the complex.
Meanwhile, security around the complex has also been beefed up while the roads leading to the complex have been condoned off.
