The speaker Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, Wednesday, inaugurated an adhoc committee to investigate the activities of the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Gov. Abdullahi A. Sule on Development Control, Stanley Buba, an architect.
Balarabe Abdullahi during the inauguration at the assembly complex in Lafia, charged the committee to be just and fair in their investigation.
“I have tremendous confidence on the committee, and I want to make it clear that we don’t intend to intimidate, harass or embarrass any government official but to sanitize the system, to ensure that the right thing is done in accordance with the law.”
He emphasized that the house is not out to witchhunt any government official but to ensure that the right thing is done.
“You will recall that the house constituted a committee after the appearance of the SSA on Dev. Control to the Governor, Architect Stanley Buba which members were not satisfied with his answers.
“It is my hope that the committee will do justice to the matter and come up with a good, reflective and satisfied report,” he added.
In his remark, chairman of the ad-hoc committee, David Maiyaki thanked the speaker for the confidence reposed on them and promised to do their best to come out with the best.
The state assembly has also, passed into first reading, a bill for a law to provide for the office of Auditor General of Nasarawa State and for other matters related therewith.
Balarabe Abdullahi announced the passage of the bill into first reading after the sponsor, Hon Abdullahi Dahiru Angibi introduced the bill for first reading which was seconded by Hon.Daniel Ogazi.
It is expected to be tabled for the second reading on October 20, 2020.
