Newly elected Chairman of Delta State Football Association Mr. Ken Nwamucha has promised to take grassroots football development to the next level by initiating the return of principal cup among the secondary schools in the state.
Speaking in a telephone chat , the new boss of DFA explained that the new board has already map out plans on how to achieve football development within the state and very soon various committees will be constituted and inaugurated to handle specific projects..
“Delta State is a home of football and we must do everything to sustain it. Presently the President of NFF Amaju Melvin Pinnick is from the big heart state and so far he has do well in terms of administering the round leather game in the country.
“Delta has also produced ex-internationals that have won Nations Cup for the country such as Sunday Oliseh, late Stephen Okechukwu Keshi, Edema Fuludu, Victor Ikpeba, Nduka Ugbade and few others. Late Keshi won Nations cup as a player and coach of the senior national team, Super Eagles.
“It is the dream of the new board to see our boys dominating the national teams in all categories. We must see that Warri Wolves Football Club do well in the NPFL this coming season by giving them the necessary support.
“I must thank the NFF for conducting credible, free and fair election in the state. Football is not one man show as we intend to carry along all the football stakeholders in the state to achieve success.
“The new board have map out plans to extend hands of followship to every football stakeholders in the state as football is the ultimate winner and not individual or group of persons.
Nwamucha concluded by saying that the new DFA will soon pay courtesy visit to the Chairman of Delta State Sports Commission Tony Okowa to thank him for the sustainable sports development in the state and to encourage him ensure that Stephen Okechukwu Keshi stadium, Asaba, is regularly put into use.
