A group, Biafra Zionists Federation (BZF) made attempt on Thursday to take over the Enugu State Broadcasting Service (ESBS) with a view to declaring the Republic of Biafra.
However, the plan was foiled by the Police, losing one personnel and another person in the process.
Led by Benjamin Onwuka, a United Kingdom-trained lawyer, the group was said to have stormed the ESBS at about 6am.
Prompt News recalls that the group, Biafra Zionists on March 8, 2014 attacked the Enugu State Government House.
When contacted, the spokesperson for Enugu State Police Command Ebere Amaraizu, confirmed the incident, saying the leader of the group and some members have been arrested.
“Please, we shall give you details of the incident as soon as we are through with the enquiry. Onwuka and some of his arrested members are with us andwe want to get more facts,” the PPRO said. .
