Afenifere Chieftain and former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Dayo Adeyeye has described the June 21 governorship election as “a must win for the PDP”, promising not to waiver in his support for the party’s candidate, Mr Ayodele Fayose.
Adeyeye, who urged his supporters to continue to work assiduously for the victory of the PDP and its candidate, added that; “My support for Fayose is total and we must all join hands with him to win the election.”
In a release issued in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday, Adeyeye said there was nothing to benefit in failure, adding that he remained steadfast and committed to the Ayo Fayose’s gubernatorial ambition and that all his supporters have been mandated to return to their various wards to mobilise support for the PDP.
“I am happy at the commitment of the Prince Adedayo Adeyeye Movement (PAAM) family to this election and I want to urge them to double their efforts so as to ensure total victory for our party.
“I therefore call on all members and supporters of our party, the PDP not to allow anyone to hoodwink them with unfounded rumour.
“Rather, they should remain focused and concentrate their efforts on wining the governorship election so as to rescue Ekiti State from the hands of Governor Kayode Fayemi and his All Progressives Congress pillagers.
While describing the suits being sponsored by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State against the candidature of Fayose as an indication of acceptance of defeat, Adeyeye said; “No judge worth his career in a State High Court would attend to a case involving a Federal Agency.”
He said; “by going to the Ekiti State High to file suits which have the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as a party, Governor Kayode Fayemi and his agents have shown that they are desperately looking for a way to use the judiciary to sustain what they got through judicial manipulations. But this time around, it won’t work.”
