A nongovernmental and nonprofit organisation, Heritage-life Support Initiative has donated hand-washing facilities to 10 schools in the state.
The Executive Director of the NGO, Mrs Bukola Olubisi Ejiade said it was part of efforts to prevent the spread of Coronavirus among students in Osun State as they resume to prepare for their WAEC examination.
Ejiade explained that the gesture was aimed at ensuring that the students adhere to regular hand washing in their schools.
Ejiade and her team including Mayowa Masanwoola, Kehinde Olaniyi, Eniola Ejiade, Yomi Akinrinade, Bimpe Agboola and Kemi Oyedeji moved round the schools to deliver the hand washing facilities to the officials of the schools.
The Osun State High School for Persons with Special Needs, Osogbo was among the schools that benefited from the gesture.
The schools that benefited are Baptist High School, Osogbo, St Charles Grammar School, Osogbo, Fakunle Unity Compressive High, Ataoja School of Science, Osogbo High School (Mega), Osogbo Grammar School, Oba Morounfolu secondary school, Owode Ifon, Anglican Grammar School, St Marks High School and Ido- Osun High School, Ido-Osun.
The students, teachers and the principals of the schools expressed gratitude to the donor and promised to make good use of the facilities.
The Commissioner for Education in the state, Mr Olayinka Folorunso met Ejiade and her team while distributing the hand washing facilities lauded them for the gesture.
The Principal of the School for Persons with Special Needs, Elder Solomon Olawale Ayegboyi while receiving the hand washing facilities for the school also commended Ejiade and Heritage-life Support Initiative for the move.
