            By Chukwuemeka Abbah, Abuja

Former Nigeria Professional Football League Chairman Barrister Rumson Ebiakpo Baribote has cautioned the Nigeria Football Federation to jettison the idea of engaging foriegn coach to tinker the Super Falcons.
Baribote who made this known in a chat said engaging a foriegn handler when we have competent female home base coaches would amount to waste of fund.
The Nembe City Football Club Chairman believed that the indigenous coaches have gone well by taking the Super Falcons to the quarter-finals of the Olympic Games  women’s football event and the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
He, however, suggested that the money earmark to hire an expertriat coach, if channelled properly would help in strengthening the female football and also organise coaching clinics and seminars for clubs and their handlers.
“Frankly I don’t support the idea of hiring a foriegn coach for the super falcons even the Super Eagles , I strongly believe that the home base coaches will do better.
” In Africa, super falcons are the best in  Fifa ranking , Nigeria is the best in the continent. Nigeria has won Africa Women’s Nations Cup nine -times out of which eight was won by our local coaches.  The first foriegn coach Thomas Dennerby engaged by the Nff abandoned the team after the world cup and throughout his stay in Nigeria the Super Falcons struggled to win matches both CAF and FIFA competitions.
“What our female coaches need now is encouragement and good environment to work. Nff should be thinking on how to develop our domestic football both male and female and stop the idea of hiring a foriegn coach.
He concluded by saying that an indigenous coach in charge of  Super Falcons stands a better chance of winning the first ever  FIFA senior women’s world cup than the Super Eagles .
