The All Progressives Congress (APC) Screening Committee Friday afternoon announced the disqualification of the incumbent Governor of Edo state, Godwin Obaseki from participating in the forthcoming Governorship Primary Election of the party slated for June 22.
The announcement was made by Professor Jonathan Ayuba, Chairman of the Screening Committee who was flanked by other members of the Committee.
Prof. Ayuba also said that two other Governorship candidates have been disqualified, pointing out that Gov. Obaseki was disqualified on the grounds that his Higher School Certificate (HSC) and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificates are defective.
APC National Chairman who received the Committee’s submission thanked Prof. Ayuba and his members for “doing a good job”.
Meanwhile, Gov. Obaseki who has been having a cat and mouse relationship with Oshiomohole for sometime has outrightly rejected his purported disqualification and vowed not to appeal the verdict.
