Super Falcons continued their build up to the AWC qualifier with a 7-0 thrashing of State House Queens FC of Abuja over the weekend at the FIFA Goal Project.
Super Falcons coach Edwin Okon said the result of the test game does not matter to him and his coaching crew but will enhance team confidence as they prepare to get into match mood.
“We are playing female teams now because we want the girls to have winning mentality.We have played two female teams in a row and won both matches so we believe these will do a whole lot of good to the psychology of the girls” coach Okon stated.
Turkey based Desire Oparanozie opened scoring in the 16th minute but that was after defender Ngozi Ebere had missed a penalty a minute earlier.
Super Falcons doubled their lead in the 35th minute by a low shot by Asisat Oshoala.
In the 37th minutes Oparanozie turned provider as she dribbled past the defenders and laid a pass for Chioma Wogu to cooly tap in.
Captain Evelyn Nwabuoku completed the first half routing when she fired home a powerful shot from close to the eighteen yard box in the 40th minute to give Super Falcons a four goal lead in the first half.
The second half saw Falcons increase the goals tally when substitutes Yetunde Adeboyejo got a brace in the 55th and 65th minute while Uchechi Sunday sealed it with an 85th minute goal.
Meanwhile, Belarusian based defender Onome Ebi joined her team mates Saturday at the teams camp.She and Desire Oparanozie are the two foreign based players who are available for selection for the AWC qualifier against Rwanda on May 24.
