By: Olusegun Lawrence Sequel to the request of President Goodluck Jonathan, the House of Representatives Thursday approved the extension of the emergency rule in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe, by another six months.
The President had requested for the extension to enable troops and others security agencies restore peace, law and order in the affected states.
Members of the Lower Chamber approved the six months extension through a voice vote. Earlier, they had met with the Service Chiefs at a closed door session.
According to Speaker Aminu Tambuwal, who presided over the plenary, prior to the voice vote, members had on Wednesday had a very robust debate on the presidential letter.
