The chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Nasarawa state chapter, Bishop Joseph Masin who was kidnapped last week has been set free by his abductors.
The Commissioner of police in Nasarawa, Mr Bola Longe confirmed this to the press on Sunday.
The police Chief revealed that four suspects are in custody in relation to the abduction of the clergy and investigation is being carried out.
However, he denied knowledge of any ransom paid to the kidnappers to secure the release of the Chairman.
Pastor Sam Joseph, a son to the Bishop said that his father was released at about 11pm on Saturday around Lizhi village in Nasarawa Local Government Area.
He said that his father got to reunite with the family at around 1:30 am this Sunday morning after walking several kilometers to come back to his Bukan-Sidi home in Lafia.
Pastor Sam disclosed that ransom was paid to secure the release and safe return of his father, however, he did not disclose the amount paid.
