The Nasarawa state government has lifted ban on religious gatherings for the period of two weeks.
The state commissioner for Information, Tourism and Culture, Mr Dogo Shammah briefed Newsmen after a COVID-19 task force meeting, held at Nasarawa state government house in Lafia.
“The ban on churches and mosques has been lifted for the period of two weeks, provided they wear face masks, use hand sanitizers and water is provided for hand washing” he said.
Infrared thermometer will be provided for the places of worship by the state government to check temperature of people going into worship centers.
Ban on commercial tricycles has also been lifted, provided they take two passengers only. Meanwhile, motorcycles remained banned until further notice.
Also addressing the press, the state commissioner of police, Mr Adebola Emmanuel-Longe called on the people for total compliance to the lockdown rules.
He also charged religious leaders to ensure that worshipers adhere to the laid down rules to prevent prosecution.
