The Peoples Democratic Party Caucus in the Senate has mourned the death of the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mallam Abba Kyari.
Senate Minority Leader Enyinnaya Abaribe said in a statement in Abuja on Saturday that the caucus was shocked by the news of Kyari’s death.
“The caucus expresses condolences to the president, the presidency, the Federal Government and the family of the deceased,” he said.
Abaribe said that the death of Kyari robbed Nigeria of his rich experience in governance.
He said that Kyari demonstrated pragmatism when he announced that he tested positive for COVID -19.
He said the late chief of staff died at a time the president and the Federal Government needed his services more.
“We in the senate minority caucus condole with President Buhari, the Federal Government and the family of Kyari, and pray that the Lord receives his soul and grant him eternal rest,” he added.
