The rising crime rate in Nigeria’s economic capital, Lagos which was triggered by the ongoing stay at home order to curb the spread of the novel Coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria is not showing any sign of abating as armed robbers Tuesday night invaded Top View Estate in Ikotun suburb.
A resident who pleaded anonymity told Prompt News that robbers numbering about 50 invaded Top View Estate in Ikotun, a sprawling suburb in Lagos state Tuesday night to dispossess residents of their belongings.
According to the resident, “crime rate in Lagos had increased too high. Everyone is living in fears. As I write this text message, Top view Estate in Ikotun, Governor’s Road is under grave attack by more than fifty armed Robbers. The same has happened in Agege, Gowon Estate and Iyana- Ipaja. Please tell the authorities to understand it and lift the “useless lockdown”.
