The PDP Deputy National Chairman South, Elder Yemi Akinwonmi has said God’s hands are in Nigeria despite the novel Covid-19 pandemic all over the world.
Akinwonmi therefore, implored all Nigerians to be full of fasting and prayers and sacrifice during this season of Easter.
Akinwonmi who stated this in his Easter message at his country home Ayede town, Ogun-Water Side Area of Ogun-State, said that residents and especially those of the Christian faith, must use this period of Easter season to engage in more prayers for the State, Nigeria and globally.
A statement made available by his Personal Assistant, Mr Anthony Agbetuyi, says that the Deputy National Chairman, South also encouraged the people of Ogun-State and entire world to imbibe the lessons of love, which he said are the hallmarks of Easter.
The statement added that Jesus Christ died for our sins due to His true love for humanity and He resurrected after three day.
Akinwonmi said: “As the world marks another Easter, a reminder of the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary and his resurrection, it is important to felicitate with residents of Ogun- State, especially those of the Christians.
“While regretting that they could not celebrate the Easter festivity as expected, due to the restrictions brought upon us all by the need to control social gathering and movements as a result of moves to curtail COVID -19, I must salute the commitment and prayers of all residents of the State since the arrival of the Virus to our country.
“I also urged the APC Administration to be transparent in all their ways”.
Akinwonmi stated further by saying: no doubt, people are hungry and it is the responsibility of our Government to provide for us at this crucial time. ” How can people stay at home comfortable without Electricity, food, money e.tc.?”
“As we celebrate the Easter season, it is another opportunity to offer more prayers to God to heal our land and the world in general by granting wisdom and direction to humanity on a solution to Covid-19.
“I am sure that our fasting and prayers can go a long way at this critical period.
“It is my sincere prayer that God in His infinite mercy will heal our lands called Nigeria and make these trying times to pass over us in a short while including the entire world.
“I urge all my people at Ward, Local, State, Federal level to go by WHO advice by washing our hands always, social distancing, as well as using face mask at all time.
However, Akinwonmi use the opportunity to tell his people at the grassroots to embark on Covid-19 test so as to ascertain their health status.
