Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will now battle Tanzania in a 2015 African Youth Championship second round next month after the Ngorongoro Heroes eliminated Kenya on Sunday.
Both teams had played out a goalless draw in Kenya three weeks ago before Tanzania edged the tie at home on penalties after another scoreless draw.
It will be a rematch between Nigeria and Tanzania next month after both teams clashed in the qualifying tournament for the 2013 AYC.
Nigeria won the first leg in Tanzania 2-1 with a brace from big striker Alhaji Gero and also won the return in Ilorin 2-0 with goals from Abduljaleel Ajagun and Gero.
Tanzania will host the Flying Eagles in the weekend of May 9-11, while the return leg in Nigeria will be a fortnight later.
The overall winners of this match-up will face the winners of another second round clash between Swaziland and Lesotho against Angola, who were also drawn bye to the second round.
