By Gracious Akujobi Super Falcons Coach, Edwin Okon has demanded improvement from his girls after they conceded yet another defeat, losing one nil to National U-15 boys in a test game played on Thursday at the FIFA Goal Project pitch, Abuja.
Okon noted that there was no reason for the girls to have lost against the U-15 boys after playing very well against faster and stronger Sia-One academy boys two days earlier.
“It is painful that we lost that match. You girls don’t have any explanation for their below average performance against boys who were assembled just three days before the game.
“You played well in a fast tempo match against older boys on Tuesday and now this? Are we going forward or backwards?” A visibly angered coach Okon asked his girls.
He continued “We have a serious task ahead of us and we are condemned to qualifier for Africa women championship (AWC) and do well at the competition proper, so we all have to brace up and show that we are ready for Africa”.
