No fewer than three players of Remo Football Club have been suspended for the rest of the season following their alleged involvement in the physical assault of the match officials after the Week 10 Nigeria National League (NNL) match even as the club has also been slammed with huge fine to serve as deterrent to other teams that will bring the game to disrepute.
The affected players are Henshaw Blessing, Victor Mbaomah and Adebanjo Jacob who were sanctioned for running foul of Article 6.0 (2) of the rules of the league 2013/2014 season just as the club has been fined the sum of Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N200, 000) only which NNL said must be paid before Remo versus Bendel Insurance home match for contravening Article 6.0 (1). The club will also face another sanction from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Meanwhile, NNL has warned the management of DSS, Kaduna to pay up its fine to the account of the league organizer or risk. The club was fine the sum of Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N200,000) only for the molestation of match officials in DSS versus Jigawa Golden Stars Week 10 tie.
Secretary of NNL, Lawrence Katken who signed both letters to the erring clubs warned of heavy sanctions if they fail to comply.
