            Easter Homage

President Goodluck Jonathan has assured that no criminal group in whatever nomenclature, be it Boko Haram or any other international terrorists can disintegrate Nigeria.

The President gave this assurance on Sunday while receiving the FCT delegation and the Christian community led by the FCT Minister, Bala Mohammed that paid him Easter Homage at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

According to him, “the nation is going through some challenges, but there is hope as Nigeria will overcome every one of them.

“Surely, we will overcome this tribulation. Those who think that this country will be divided into North, South, East and West, or whatever, we will not.
“Boko Haram will not disintegrate this country. Most of you are even aware when this incident happened in Nyanya, Nigerians from all religions, from all class, participated in the evacuation of all the people who were affected, even before the security people arrived.
“People came from everywhere, irrespective of their religious belief and persuasion. That shows that there is no criminal group, within or outside this country that can break this country.

“No criminal group will disintegrate this country”
“Boko haram will come and go. We have overcome various challenges, God willing, we will also overcome Boko Haram”.
President Jonathan also promised that his administration will do everything possible to continue to bring development to nooks and crannies of the country and therefore called for closer collaboration from all the three tiers of government to collectively work in order to solve every minute problem in the country.

The President noted that Easter is the most important ceremony in Christian faith; stressing that without the resurrection of Jesus Christ, “our faith would have been in vain”.

“His resurrection gives us hope. You will have tribulations but there is hope for you. Today we are marking that resurrection,” he emphasized.

The FCT Minister, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, who led the delegation comprising both Christians and Muslims resident in the Federal Capital Territory, presented a beautiful Easter Card to the President.

According to him, “we, Christians and Muslims resident in the Federal Capital Territory as it is the tradition, have come together to pay you this momentous Easter homage as a mark of respect.

The Minister prayed that the spirit of this holy season bring the President and his family hope and unhindered opportunities of fulfilling his dreams of transforming the entire country.

Mohammed also prayed that his esteem family be under God’s watch throughout this Easter period and beyond.

On the Miniter’s delegation were Philip Tanimu Aduda, Senator representing FCT, Chairman, Senate Committee on FCT, Smart Adeyemi, Ministers of Special Duties, Kabiru Turaki; Youth Developmnet, Boni Haruna; Culture and Tourism, Edem Duke;  FCT Permanent Secretary, John O.
