Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Togo, Mathew Sunday Adoli has commended the Aminu Maigari-led Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The present board of NFF has already gone down in history as one of the most successful in recent times following string of victories by all national teams including the Super Eagles 2013 African Cup of
Nations triumph as well as the Golden Eaglets’ conquest at the 2013 FIFA Under-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
Speaking during the reception in honour of the Golden Eaglets competing at the WAFU B Under-17 tournament at the Nigeria’s House in Lome, Ambassador Adoli said he was impressed with the performance of the current board of the NFF board necessitating his call for their continuity.
“I want to seize this opportunity to specially thank President Goodluck Jonathan for his abiding love and support for football and other sports,” he said. “There is no doubt that football especially,
foster peace, harmony, progress, unity and it is a good thing that we have a lot of success under the President Jonathan.”
He continued: “The NFF too has also tried and the success we have recorded recently was as a result of the good handiwork of the NFF’s President (Aminu Maigari) and his team; I want to give them a
pat on the back. I want them to keep Nigeria’s flag high.”
Furthermore, the ambassador in his usual lively manner wished the Golden Eaglets success at the WAFU B Tournament even as he reemphasized the harmonious relationship between Nigeria and Togo over
the years. He therefore call on the Golden Eaglets and accompanied officials, to be law abiding as good citizens and protect the image of the country as true ambassadors.
