The headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) popularly known as Wadata House, located at Wuse Zone 5, Abuja, was gutted by fire on Monday night.
Olisa Metuh, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, says the fire incident affected only some parts of the Press Centre.
He however ruled out any act of sabotage, saying the fire outbreak was caused by electrical fault and was promptly put off by men of the fire service.
A late night statement issued by Metuh reads in full, ““There has been a minor fire incident which affected some parts of the Press Center situated within the premises of the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja.
“The fire, which was caused by some electrical faults at about 8:15 pm was promptly put off by men of the Federal Fire Service.
“The PDP rules out any form of sabotage or attack and hereby wishes to inform all our members and teaming supporters that the matter has since been put under control”.
