The insurgents on Monday morning struck again in Nyanyan, a suburb of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, killing dozens.
A bomb planted by a suspected suicide bomber exploded at the popular Nyanyan motor park, affecting many vehicles including government owned high capacity buses.
Meanwhile, security operatives and emergency services have been mobilized to scene and now working hard to contain the incident.
An official of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) confirmed that the bomb that was placed on the ground, exploded as commuters going to work were boarding the high capacity buses popularly called ‘El-Rufai’.
According to him, about eight emergency service vehicles were involved in evacuating dead bodies to the Asokoro General Hospital and National Hospital while no fewer than 30 vehicles were burnt down.
Meanwhile, the President who is still in shock over the bomb explosion has cancelled his scheduled visit to Ibadan.
He was billed to attend the 100 years birthday of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Samuel Odulana Odugade 1, holding in the ancient City of Ibadan today.
