            Super Falcons

By: Gracious Akujobi          The much talked about friendly match between Super Falcons and the Lioness of Cameroon has been postponed at the instance of the Cameroonians.
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) General Secretary, Musa Amadu, confirmed that the match will now be played on the 29th of April.
“They (Cameroonians) sent a message to say they cannot honour the match on the initial date of 15th as earlier scheduled.

“They have asked for another date which is the 29th of April because they said their coaches are involved in FIFA course and will not be available for the said date” Amadu stated.
Meanwhile, the Super Falcons technical crew has continued its gradual process of elimination by substitution when on Wednesday seven players were asked to go for not measuring up to what is expected of them.
The seven players dropped are midfielders Joy Anthony Ajah,Lilian Tule, Edith Eduviere,Elizebeth Zirike,Chinyere Igboamalu,Humble Nelson and Abosede Torila
Head coach, Edwin Okon said there was no time to waste hence the need to quickly identify tournament materials.
“We have not asked seven of you to leave us because you are bad players. We are running against time now so the need to prune the team down to sizeable number and concentrate on those who are giving us what we want at the moment.
“Please, as you leave us continue to pray for the team because you all are part of this team” Okon told the girls.
Indications have also emerged that more players who do not measure up will be asked to leave by next week.
Meanwhile, Lilian Tule, one of the axed players said she was grateful to the coaches for inviting her to the national camp for the very first time.
“I did not know I will be called to the camp of the Super Falcons this early in my career. I am happy and grateful for this opportunity to experience firsthand what being in camp is all about.

“I will continue to pray for the team to do well and win the Africa Women Championship (AWC) and also to make us proud at the world stage” The Taraba Angels midfielder said.
