Golden Eaglets midfielder Ibrahim Said has been shortlisted for the goal of the tournament award at the just concluded 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil
Said’s second goal in the Golden Eaglets’ 3-2 win against Ecuador in their second Group B game is among the 10 goals shortlisted by FIFA.
The Dabo Babes Academy star scored Nigeria’s second goal with a superb curling effort from the edge of the area.
Other players nominated are; Brazil’s Gabriel Veron who won the most valuable player prize of the competition, Goden Boot winner Sontje Hansen from Netherlands, France’s Nathaniel Mbuku and Diego Duarte.
Challenging the Nigeria U17 international for the individual accolade are MVP of the 2019 U17 World Cup Gabriel Veron (Brazil), Golden Boot winner Sontje Hansen (Netherlands), Nathanael Mbuku (France), Diego Duarte (Paraguay).
Others are; Diego (Brazil) Matias Godoy (Argentina), Degnand Gnonto, Gaetano Oristanio (both Italy) and Santiago Munoz (Mexico).
Voting will end next week Monday and winner will be announced same day by FIFA.
