Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola (SAN) has revealed that the Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approvesapproved the contract for the construction of Bida-Sachi-Nupeko road and the Nupeko-Patigi bridge across River Niger, linking Nupeko and Patigi in Niger and Kwara States.
He made this disclosure in Abuja today while briefing State House Correspondents after the weekly FEC meeting presided over by the Vice President Professor Yemi Osibanjo.
Fashola explained that the project is to link Niger and kwara states together and facilitate connectivity from South West to the North Central and the core North of Nigeria.
The former Lagos State Governor (Fashola) said “it is an old contract that was awarded in 2013, terminated for none performance and re-valuated. It didn’t have a bridge then so we have added the bridge now, approved for 58.488 billion and is expected to take 30 months”.
