Nigeria’s Super Falcons have open camp in Abuja preparatory to campaign for the 2014 Africa Women Championship (AWC) in Namibia.
Coach Edwin Okon has called up 34 players to camp, saying the screening exercise will be elimination by substitution to get the required and needed players for the team.
He is excited that the team will be playing Cameroon before the AWC qualifier against Rwanda, saying it will help the technical crew to access players better.
“Nigeria has so many players and we have replacement for whoever is not up to our standard. This is just the beginning of the camp and everything is okay.
“I like it that we are playing Cameroon because my disciples will be ever ready. We are just like boys scout and Brigade, we are ever ready.
“Though, I heard that the Cameroonians have been in camp since December but that is not a problem. We will try our best and use the match to screen players too” Okon said.
Meanwhile, only 20 players participated in the team’s first and only training on Wednesday morning, as the rest of the players are expected in camp on Wednesday evening.
