By Gracious Akujobi Chairman of Supreme Court FC of Abuja, Sunday Olorundahunsi has again assured that his team is in contention for next year’s Premier League ticket despite the prevailing setbacks.
Olorundahunsi, who was speaking while playing host to members of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) FCT Chapter in his office on Thursday, noted that the Abuja-based club side would not lose sleep until it achieves its target.
He however maintained that though the Apex Boys as the team is fondly called have the quality to meet the mandate it set out for; increased financial and logistics support would further help to steer players to give their best.
While assuring FCT SWAN of adequate support in all its programmes and activities, the Supreme Court boss reiterated “my meeting today with you (FCT SWAN) will be the beginning of more robust relationship and I urge you to continue to partner with the club in the area of publicity.
“On our side as one of the leading clubs in FCT and national league, we are working assiduously to secure more sponsorship deals with corporate organisations and well spirited and philanthropic individuals who will be willing to partner with us.
“Nobody should write us off, our target remains to gain promotion to the premier league this year and I know we can achieve it though the general challenge with the country’s league system has not been favourable to teams especially those playing away.”
Earlier, FCT SWAN Chairman, Kayode Adeniyi had told the Supreme Court FC helmsman that the association was in his office to intimate him of the activities lined up for the 2nd year anniversary of Abuja SWAN executive.
Meanwhile, all is now set for one of the week 8 matches of the Nigeria National League (NNL) between Supreme Court FC and Mighty Jets of Jos on Sunday, March 30 at Old Parade Ground, Abuja.
Despite losing 0-2 to Plateau United last weekend in Jos, the Apex Boys according to Head Coach, Henry Haggai are high spirit to secure another maximum three points which would place the team in an advantage position on the NNL log.
