By Gracious Akujobi Former Secretary General of Nigeria Football Association, Sanni Toro has taken a swipe at the management of Giwa FC for taking the League Management Company (LMC) to court.
However, he appealed to the LMC to readmit the Club into the Glo Premier League.
Speaking to Prompt News Online in Abuja, the former scribe said it was high time our football breath some fresh air.
“One cannot agree with the decision taken by the LMC in this respect because they are the only two private clubs we have in Nigeria and I thought they need to be encouraged and I feel they still need to be encouraged.
“I hope and pray that both the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and LMC should look into this matter again and see the possibility of re admitting them in the interest of football in this country.
“It is very wrong, they shouldn’t have gone to court because the rule is very clear, if you go to court you are denouncing your membership that is the rule. I expected them to appeal against the rule, to write to NFF to appeal, asking them to intervene.
“If the FA does not look into the matter they still have another way of going to the National Sports Commission (NSC) who will handle it administratively.
“I think they should have followed that procedure before going to court, going to court you are denying your membership; that is the rule” he posited.
