The Buhari Media Organisation(BMO) has advised the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to cultivate the habit of being a responsible opposition, rather than a perpetual rascal that disseminate lies to cause disaffection and confusion in the polity.
The Buhari group said it was obvious in the manner PDP has been acting since it lost the 2019 presidential election, that the party is confused and is wandering in the wilderness.
PDP, BMO noted, has run out of ideas to constructively engage as a credible opposition party. Rather its only contribution is engineering confusion and divisions in the country.
In a statement by its Chairman Niyi Akinsiju and Secretary Cassidy Madueke, BMO said there was nothing in PDP’s recent claims that President Muhammadu Buhari could not seal any meaningful economic agreement at the 7th Tokyo International Conference on African Development, but only came home with an empty basket and pockets full of promissory notes.
“Like a drowning man, the PDP has not ceased clutching at straw, and that is exactly what it was doing in its latest attempt to cast aspersion on the Buhari administration and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in regards to Nigeria’s showing at the conference.
According to BMO, the opposition party cannot appreciate good governance because it spent its 16 years in power looting the treasury, abusing power, denying Nigerians any dividend of democracy and mismanaging the polity and the economy of the country.
“In a sane society”, BMO insisted, “PDP members would bury their heads in shame for wasting the fortunes of the country for 16 years.
“Contrary to PDP’s position that Nigeria did not get any meaningful economic gains from the Tokyo conference, there are a lot of benefits accruing to Nigeria, among of which are 300 million dollars from the Japanese government, promissory notes from the European Union (EU) and other bilateral benefits”, the group added.
