Algeria will be without two of their key players, Youcef Atal and Sofiane Feghouli, in Sunday’s AFCON 2019 semifinal clash against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The Desert Foxes defeated the Elephants of Cote d’lvoire 4-3 on penalties on Thursday to secure their passage into the last four. The game ended 1-1 in regulation time.
Attal, a defender who plays for French club, OGC Nice was replaced by Mehdi Zeffane in the 30th minute of the encounter after picking up an injury.
He was joined on the treatment table by Feghouli who was replaced by Andy Delort deep into stoppage time.
Both players are not expected to be fit in time for the game against the Super Eagles.
The Super Eagles booked their passage into the last four following a 2-1 win against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa on Wednesday.
The Nigeria versus Algeria clash will kick off at 8pm Nigerian time on Sunday, at the Cairo International Stadium.
