29th Rabiul Thanni 1435AH (28th Feb. 2014)
The desire for human not to be satisfied with what he has started with the second Son of Prophet Adam(a.s), Kabila (Cain), he was the first person to commit murder. He killed his brother Habila (Abel). Since then, the world have known no peace.
There is no limit to competition. The desire for one to be much better materially than the others, which the ignorant ones calls prosperity have turn brother against brother, community against community and nation against nation.
The slave trade was a way of making some people to sweat in the Labor Camp of the Colonial oppressor in other for them to enjoy without sweat.
In the name of politics, families is known to be against family, community against community, nation against nation; all of these in the rivalry towards the control of the soul and the wealth of the territory.
Now that it has been impressed into the heart of the ignorant man that all he needs is prosperity to be happy, he has to make it big! Now he has refused to be married, those that are married does not want children. Those with children have no time to spare for the child. All the time, husband and wife spent it pursuing money. Now it is all about Rat Race. Should that be the lot of a Muslim? Let us see how Islam assist you in pursuit of a better life here and in the hereafter.
The beauty of Islam as a Religion is its clarity of message. The manner evil is being presented to the world appear as if evil and it’s attendant companion of Materialism is fashionable. This is far from being the true position.
Cheating, Robbery, Adultery, Fornication, Gambling, Lottery, Killing and related tendency, have always been ill wind that blows no one no good.
Check out the area where there is conflict, if it is not about petro-dollar, it is about precious stone or power. Even those that pretended to be defending Democracy or fighting for human right are not far from fighting for their pockets. What that means therefore is that everyone is afflicted with poverty of wealth and poverty of knowledge and spirituality.
Islam as a Deen have balanced the love of life vis-a-vis the spiritual life. The World was placed properly in perspective and so the worthlessness of it was emphasized while the focus was directed to Aljannah. This shift brought appropriate value to the use of material as well as social life taking into consideration the limitation of the material world.
The Mutual Rivalry: At-Takathur Competition Chapter 102 At-Takathur 8 verses, Mecca
1. The mutual rivalry for piling up of worldly things diverts you,
2. Until you visit the graves (i.e. till you die).
3. Nay! You shall come to know!
4. Again, Nay! You shall come to know!
5. Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things)
6. Verily, You shall see the blazing Fire (Hell)!
7. And again, you shall see it with certainty of sight!
8. Then, on that Day, you shall be asked about the delight (you indulged in, in this world)!
To demonstrate how worthless this earth is in the sight of the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth, the similitude was demonstrated like this:
Worst Than The Rag: Book 42, Number 7059:Jabir b. Abdullah reported that:
Allah’s Apostle (p.b.u.h) happened to walk through the bazar coming from the side of ‘Aliya And the people were on both his sides.
There he found a dead Lamb with very short ears.
He took hold of his ear and said:
“Who amongst you would like to have this for a dirham?”
They said:
“We do not like to have it even for less than that; as it is of no use to us”.
He said: “Do you wish to have it (free of any cost)”?
They said: “By Allah, even if it were alive (we would not have liked to possess that), for there is defect in it as its ear is very short; now it is dead also”.
Thereupon Allah’s Messenger (p.b.u.h) said:
“By Allah, this world is more insignificant in the eye of Allah as it (this dead lamb) is in your eye”.
Un-necessary Competition and Your Indulge: Book 42, Number 7061:
Mutarrif reported on the authority of his father:
I came to Allah’s Apostle (p.b.u.h) as he was reciting:
“Abundance diverts you” (cii. 1).: (the verses quoted above)
What rightly is yours?:
He (Mankind) said : My Wealth! My wealth!!
And he (the Holy Prophet) said:
“O son of Adam is there anything as your belonging except
That which you consumed, which you utilized, or
which you wore and then it was worn out or
you gave as charity and sent it forward”?
Do not envy the high ups:
3:188. “Think not that those who rejoice in what they have done (or brought about), and love to be praised for what they have not done,- think not you that they are rescued from the torment, and for them is a painful torment”.
3:189. “And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and Allah has power over all things”.
Reflect on the Daily Miracles:
3:190. “Verily! In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of night and day, there are indeed signs for men of understanding”.
3:191. ‘Those who remember Allah (always, and in prayers) standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and think deeply about the creation of the heavens and the earth, (saying): “Our Lord! You have not created (all) this without purpose, glory to You! (Exalted be You above all that they associate with You as partners). Give us salvation from the torment of the Fire’.
47:5. “He will guide them and set right their state”.
47:6. “And admit them to Paradise which He has made known to them (i.e. they will know their places in Paradise more than they used to know their houses in the world)”.
The Hard Fact:
4:78. “Wheresoever you may be, death will overtake you even if you are in fortresses built up strong and high!” And if some good reaches them, they say, “This is from Allah,” but if some evil befalls them, they say, “This is from you (O Muhammad SAW).” Say: “All things are from Allah,” so what is wrong with these people that they fail to understand any word?
All Comes from Allah But…:
79. Whatever of good reaches you, is from Allah, but whatever of evil befalls you, is from yourself. And We have sent you (O Muhammad SAW) as a Messenger to mankind, and Allah is Sufficient as a Witness.
Those that have the right perception of Life:
2:5. They are on (true) guidance from their Lord, and they are the successful.
The essence of life is to know that Rat Race will only lead to self destruction and loss of souls. When you pursue material wealth at the expense of your soul you end up as a loser.
Therefore be wary of The Rat Race and You Would Not Despair over the world and it’s attendant losses if you have the correct perception of Islam as a Religion.
Think about it.
