Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has approved the appointment of Alhaji Baba Ango Idris as the state Amiru-Hajj for the 2019 Hajj exercise.

A statement issued on Friday in Lokoja by the Kogi State Muslim Pilgrims Commission confirmed the appointment.

The statement signed by the commission’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Isah Abdulrahman, described the new appointee as a seasoned administrator who had previously served the commission in different capacities.

Baba Ango was a former executive secretary of the commission and was until his appointment the Secretary of the state chapter of the Nigeria Council of Ulamahu.

According to the statement, the appointment takes immediate effect.
