A United States of America (USA)- based cleric, Apostle Edward Odiakosa has urged Nigerians at home and in diaspora to pray for the successes of the two senior national teams- Super Falcons and Super Eagles now out of the country on defending the nation’s colours.
The Falcons are in France for the on-going 8th FIFA Women’s World Cup final while the Super Eagles are already in Egypt for the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) which kicks off next Saturday. Nigerian delegations including players, coaches, backroom staff and other support officials are out there working for the good of the nation.
But Apostle Odiakosa, a Los Angeles-based traveling pastor who has been backing Nigerian national teams with prayers and counselling for the past 20 years now has said that both Falcons and Eagles need the prayers of Nigerians to excel in their various competitions.
” I am directed in the spirit to make a passionate appeal to every patriotic Nigerian at home and in diaspora to pray for Super Falcons and Super Eagles. Our national teams need divinely connections to excel in their various assignments. I have been following Nigerian sports contingents and I can testify that hardwork and prayers are inseparable. I urge all Nigerians to pray for our national teams”, he said
Odiakosa further argued that the success of Nigerian national teams at the international sports competitions have always brought joy and unity to the citizen at home and across the globe.
According to the Man of God, ” the victory of the Super Falcons and Super Eagles will help to alleviate the hardship Nigerians are going through at the moment “.
He however wished both the Super Falcons and Super Eagles success in their various assignments, adding that both teams have the quality to excel in France and Egypt respectively.
