Nigeria’s Super Falcons Friday morning held their first training session ahead of the June 17 showdown with host nation-France at the 28,000 –capacity Roazhon Park in Rennes.
All the players participated in the two hours training except the injured defender, Faith Michael who was given another training regime by the team medics by the side line. The training took place Stade Edmond Blanchet, a few kilometers outside the city.
Head Coach, Thomas Dennerby and his assistants including three Nigerians were involved in the training while the players showed much seriousness resulting in minor knocks to one or two players although all walked out of the pitch smiling.
The Nigerians however received the Mayor of the City who asked for a group photograph with the team before the delegation returned to the Best Western Plus Hotel Isidore, Rennes.
A draw in Monday’s encounter France will most certainly see the African champions qualify for the Round of 16 at the 8th FIFA Women’s World Cup finals.
